Our Story
Welcome to Kootenay Bead Weaver — a labour of love rooted in healing, heritage, and the spirit of the West Kootenay region of British Columbia.
I am a full-time working mother of seven and grandmother of seven, who discovered beadwork as part of a deeply personal healing journey and a desire to reconnect with my Aboriginal roots in the Chilcotin region of BC. Working from my home studio nestled in the West Kootenays, what began as self-taught exploration has grown into a thriving creative practice and a cherished family tradition.
Today, I have the privilege of passing this art form on to my daughters and grandchildren, whose own original pieces are also featured in this shop. Kootenay Bead Weaver is more than a boutique — it is a living family legacy.
Every piece is crafted with intention and meticulous attention to detail. Whether original in design or thoughtfully inspired, each work features evenly placed, uncrowded beadwork using only premium quality materials. The result is a finished product that is as beautiful to examine up close as it is to wear or display.
